Railway Upgrades!!!

We have had the model railway at the Bolton school as part of our Building the Railway session for sometime now. Due to some problems we had with the small gauge of the line and the difficulties of frequent derailments, The busy railway workers poured their sweat and tears into upgrading it to a wider gauge over the summer months.

The new train should resolve the issue and make the learning experience fun for everyone. Now the students even get to “drive” the train!

In addition to the new train system, the floors have all been updated and look great. We anticipate the attending groups to the Connection to the Land program will appreciate the upgrades.

"The tour of the Precinct was really interesting and very engaging for the children. There were so many hands on activities for them to participate in that they were always engaged. I love that they are allowed to touch and explore many of the items around the precinct. That makes such a difference to keep them engaged, on task and motivated. The learning connections between what we talked about in school and what we saw were evident in the conversations between the kids and the interpreters."
