1875 North West Mounted Police Fort open for free on Canada Day

Posted on June 28, 2018

Effective Monday, September 20, 2021, everyone 12 years of age and older will be required to show government-issued proof of vaccination, a negative privately-purchased COVID-19 test, or documentation of a medical exemption upon entry to the Fort Heritage Precinct. Click here for more information.

As part of Fort Saskatchewan’s Canada Day celebrations, the 1875 North West Mounted Police Fort at the Fort Heritage Precinct will be open, free of charge, from 1pm – 6pm on July 1, 2018! The Warden’s Residence gift shop will be open as well, and costumed interpreters and volunteers will be stationed throughout the Fort to interact with visitors. We are especially excited to welcome Running Thunder, a group of Indigenous dancers, who will be performing in the NWMP Fort at 1:15pm.

"Our field trip was very well organized and full of interesting activities. Our presenters were prepared for our arrival and showed interest in the activities that they were leading. I would have no hesitation in recommending this field trip to colleagues. It was a very informative and interesting day."
