The Sheep Are Coming!

Posted on May 31, 2018

Yes, the Fort Saskatchewan sheep are coming.  The famous flock will be arriving on Saturday, July 2nd, as a part of the Legacy Park Family Festival. Thanks to Kathy, our shepherdess, and Rocky, one of her best sheepdogs, you can see them as they parade through Fort Saskatchewan, and meet and mingle with them at Legacy Park.

The flock will be available for feeding and petting from Thursday-Sunday throughout the summer at the Fort Heritage Precinct in Peter T. Ream Historical Park. Our Who Was Here Before Us? programs that run throughout the summer will have a chance to meet them, see a herding demonstration, and feed them carrots on Thursdays and Fridays.

"Amazing learning connections were made between our study of past and present and your program. Lunch facilities were great. The games and hands on activities we played were so much fun. So many happy faces to be spending time in jail! The tour of village were also extremely well done. Again, the children were kept engaged and involved. The mock trial was great fun. I can’t say enough about your program It is absolutely fanstastic. Your staff does an outstanding job leading the children."
