The Modern Flammable Home Specialty Tour

What will burn in your house? Well, if you lived over a century ago, practically everything! Join us as we delve into the dangers of objects within the historic family home, and how safety measures and changing furnishings and materials have evolved to create a much less flammable modern home.

 

Wood & Glass Architecture Tour

July 18 & August 8 at 11:00am and 1:00pm

When you look at a window, what do you see? We see stories waiting to be told! From walls and windows to floors and doors, learn some basics about architecture and construction as well as building styles and techniques as we view history through the physical buildings themselves.

 

Flora and Fauna Tour

July 25 & August 15 at 11:00am and 1:00pm

Approx. 60 minute run time

Cost $13.00 per person (GST included)

Ever wondered about the plants that grow here in the Fort Saskatchewan river valley? This tour takes participants on a walk through the trails around the museum and explores the flora and fauna of the area, it’s historical uses by both Indigenous and settler cultures, and some plants that have been introduced to the area.
