With fast fashion taking over our lives (and landfills,) we have largely forgotten the important role that mending has played in human civilization since we first began wearing clothes. Until very recently, mending and altering garments would have been vital skills in every family, as new clothes were labour intensive to make and expensive to buy. Now, with the cost of living crisis looming, we can look back to our grandmothers (and their grandmothers) for methods and techniques to extend the lifetimes of our garments. Bring in your own garments to fix or test out some techniques on materials supplied!
Taking place on Saturdays in November from 1-3pm come to one session or all of them to build your skills! Clicking on each date and topic will take you to the registration page.
