Book Launch for “The Fur Trade in the West”

Posted on January 10, 2017

On January 15, Phyllis Arnold, a well know historic author will be launching her new book, “The Fur Trade In The West”, at the Armouries in Edmonton on January 15 from 2:00 pm To 5:00 pm.

The Phyllis Arnold Foundation and Edmonton Historical Society have continued supporting the History Centre Programs since the move to the Fort Heritage Precinct. They have been providing rebates to schools to help subsidize the cost of schools attending the programs.

The Fort Saskatchewan Historic precinct has been invited to attend and display some of the courses and materials we offer regarding the fur trade, and its ramifications for Canada.

Phyllis’ book is a fount of information that is well researched and abundantly illustrated, and will be a great resource for teachers doing the fur trade in the grade 4 curriculum.  I believe she has donated a certain number of books to the school libraries in the area. So look for it in your school.

"The facilities we experienced were authentic and helped us gain a genuine understanding of what it was like at the Precinct over 100 years ago."
